A new chairman with the arrival of the new year. In fact, as of January 1, 2024, Robert Henrich, will take over as Chairman of the Board of Hamburger Hochbahn AG, succeeding Henrik Falk, who will move to Berlin, becoming Chairman of the Board of Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG).

Reporting the news is German media outlet Busnetz, which points out that for many in the national industry, Henrich’s appointment comes as a surprise, since the newly appointed chairman of the Hamburg-based operator does not come from a public transport company, but from private mobility: in fact, Henrich’s recent past includes the position of Ceo at Moia (of which he was a founder); prior to that, work experience at Moovel at Car2Go.

«The goal is clear: to get even more people excited about bus and train travel. I look forward to working with the Hochbahn Executive Board team to run such an innovative company with strong implementation capabilities and close ties to the hanseatic city», says Henrich.

Robert Henrich will take up his position on January 1, 2024. Merle Schmidt-Brunn as Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer, Saskia Heidenberger as Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director, and Jens-Günter Lang as Chief Technology Officer complete the four-member Hochbahn Executive Board team.
